Research by our partner, social impact consultancy Soristic, on animal welfare, vets, and vet education informs our funding choices and the campaigns we create.
Three Dogs Approved
Three Dogs Approved (3DA) is a social enterprise founded by Jill Wong and Stephen Powell, dedicated to advancing the welfare of dogs and fostering dog-friendly spaces in Singapore.
Inspired by their time in Hong Kong where they encountered a culture of exceptional dog-friendly service in restaurants, Jill and Stephen ventured to create similar opportunities in Singapore – where dogs are not only welcomed but included in everyday human experiences.
This sparked her desire to create similar opportunities in Singapore—where dogs are not only welcomed but included in everyday human experiences. Jill envisions a world where rescued dogs enjoy the same privileges as their human companions: walks in parks, dining in restaurants, outings to picnics, and participation in cultural events such as cinema screenings, concerts, and art exhibitions.
Three Dogs Approved prioritizes the needs of both dogs and their owners by supporting dog-loving organizations, building connections within the community, and celebrating the joy of being a dog guardian. Recognizing the challenges faced by owners who wish to bring their dogs to public spaces, it aims to set new standards by hosting events in dog-friendly environments where even the most reserved dog can feel at ease.
The Golden Adoption Package (GAP):
This subsidized package includes insurance, discounted medical treatment, and additional benefits. GAP is offered to animal welfare organizations and owners of Singapore Specials, helping to alleviate the financial burden of adoption and ensure a smooth transition for both dogs and their new families.
Philanthropy Asia
The growing complexity of society, coupled with changing needs and expectations, has significantly transformed the landscape of charitable giving. With so many avenues for contributing to meaningful social change, philanthropists are faced with the challenge of making well-informed decisions to maximise their impact.
As a philanthropist herself, Jill recognised a critical gap in the availability of reliable, independent information for those looking to make a difference. Motivated by her own experiences and as a former journalist, she founded Philanthropy Asia to address this need. Understanding that informed decisions are key to effective giving, Jill set out to create a digital resource hub to empower philanthropists with the knowledge they need to navigate the increasingly complex world of giving.
Philanthropy Asia offers a wealth of features, including in-depth articles, profiles, and news reports focusing on broad philanthropic interests, combining research, stakeholder engagement and public education, all designed to support donors in making thoughtful, impactful choices.
